I got in contact with Alexandra DeMattia, a singer from California who was looking for an animator to make a music video for her new song “Miss U So Bad.” My job was to develop a video based on the lyrics from the song.

My idea for the video was to make the text look like it was written like a letter. I had been wanting to play around with “scratchy” looking type and I found this to be a great opportunity. Using effects and playing with time, I was able to get this effect which really solidified the style of the video.

I wanted to make use of red as a romantic color that could give a solemn feeling when paired with black. Knowing the time I had for this project it was also appropriate to use little color and put more attention on the lyrics.
